Sometimes showing up is enough

Blah. Blah! B l a h.

That’s how my world, and therefore my writing, has been this week.

Repetitive. Uninspired. Scattered.

I have stories I want to tell, but they’re all stubbornly staying put as bulleted ideas, moments, and lessons.

I go from one draft to the next. Everything is coming up blahsies.

But it’s Friday! And Friday is holding out her hands gimme style.

You promised you’d share a story. Where is it? Gimme.

So I hand it over. A lumpy little thing.

Here it is. I tried.

That might sound like an admission of defeat. Why share nothing if I’m not ready? Why not try harder?

Too often we focus on the second sentence.

But the first one matters, too.

Here it is.

Here I am.

Sometimes showing up is the best thing we can do.

Imperfect, but still victorious.
